In Charles County, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said that on Thursday, Sept. 29, a student at General Smallwood Middle School in Indian Head stole a pair of shoes during an incident in the building.

It is unclear what caused the student to take the shoes.

Once he was confronted by officials at the middle school, they were forced to summon the building’s School Resource Officer, who was able to de-escalate the situation.

The student was charged on a Juvenile Offense Report with theft and disorderly conduct and released to a parent.

No other details about the incident have been released by Charles County Sheriff's Office investigators.
